- Popular, sexy, highly glamorous supper club entertainer and recording artist who was a steady fixture for decades on the Las Vegas circuit.
- Before she became a solo act, she partnered in clubs with then-husband crooner Dick Haymes. They separated in 1961, but did not divorce until 1965.
- Fran's second husband, actor-turned-director Richard Quine, featured her in a couple of his films: Sex and the Single Girl (1964) and A Talent for Loving (1969). Quine's first wife was actress Susan Peters, who was accidentally shot and paralyzed after her gun accidentally discharged and a bullet lodged in her spine while she and Quine were on a hunting trip in San Diego. Quine committed suicide in 1989 after years of poor health.
